MEMPHIS The Nationall Cotton Council of America (NCC) is set to go inside the Beltway this month for its annual meeting.
The association will hold its meeting at the JW Marriott in Washington, DC, Jan. 27-31.
Being held under the theme, Cottons Capitol Agenda, policy development begins with the NCCs six program committee meetings on Saturday, January 29, followed by board review of the program committee recommendations on Sunday, January 30 and consideration by all delegates as the first business item in Mondays general session.
Also included in this session will be a 2004 activities report from NCC Chairman Woody Anderson; a keynote address by Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS), current chairman of the Agriculture, Forestry and Nutrition Committee; and a presentation by Dr. Larry Sabato, the founder and director of the University of Virginias Center for Politics.
Other sessions include the American Cotton Producers meeting on Friday, January 28, where the NCCs 2005 Planting Intentions Survey results will be announced; and the National Cotton Councils Joint Program Committee/Economic Outlook meeting on Saturday, January 29.
