Neuenhauser expands work force by six

GREER, SC — Neuenhauser Inc. (NI) has recently expanded is work force by six, Philip J. Riddle, president and CEO, announced.

Markus Heinis, president of the NI Textile Division, will manage and be active in the sale of all textile machinery.

Chuck Holmes, direct sales, will be responsible for sales in the southeastern portion of South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Texas and the Midwest states.

Tommy Loftin will assist customers with spare parts and technical services.

Tim Berry and Garry Wagner will provide technical service and machine repair to customers.

Kathy Jones, executive assistant, will be responsible for corporate communications, marketing and corporate business activities.

Neuenhauser distributes textile machines for Knotex, Genkinger-Hubtex, Sohler, Jametti, Neuenhauser Maschinebau and Rotorcraft.

Karl Mayer subsidiary appoints Hooimeijer

CLIFTON, NJ — Tony Hooimeijer has been named president of the North American subsidiary of Karl Mayer, a manufacturer of warp knitting, beam preparation and industrial fabric machinery.

He is based here and also supervises the operation in Greensboro, NC.

Other appointments in the North American company include Lutz Heinig, customer service manager; Barry Kelly, sales manager, Warp Knits; Scott Hartzell, sales manager, Technical Textiles; and Ken Overly, sales manager Beam Preparation.

PGI elects Schaeffer to board of directors

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC — James L. Schaeffer, chief executive officer of Polymer Group, Inc. (PGI), has been appointed to the company’s board of directors.

Schaeffer’s appointment increases the board’s size to eight members. The company’s stockholders agreement and by-laws were amended to allow the board to increase its size and to fill certain newly created or existing vacancies under certain circumstances.

Schaeffer, 54, has been chief executive officer of the company since March 2003. During this period, the company has made steady improvement in sales and profitability.

Prior to becoming CEO, Schaeffer served as executive vice president of the corporation, and president and chief operating officer of PGI’s nonwovens division. Schaeffer has been with PGI and its predecessors for more than 20 years.

eBridge Technologies names Mullinax plant manager

GREENVILLE, SC — eBridge Technologies, a provider of web-based process automation software, has named Richard Mullinax as project manager.

Mullinax, a professional in Information Systems, has held senior and leadership positions at companies such as Computer Associates, Kemet Electronics Corporation, Grace Logistics and others.

In his new position, Mullinax will be responsible for overall project management for new and existing clients. He holds a B.S. in computer science from Clemson University.

Ciba Specialty hires Janson as manager

Ciba Specialty Chemicals has hired Marcel Janson as a Textile Effects account manager for the Canadian sales area.

He brings to this role a blend of laboratory and technical dye management experience in the exhaust, continuous dyeing, printing and processing areas.

Janson joins Ciba Specialty Chemicals from Beaulieu Canada, Inc., where he served as technical director in Dyeing, Printing and Processing. While at Beaulieu, he implemented a shade development method for the continuous dye range that greatly enhanced dye efficiency while reducing carpet waste by 90 percent.

Avondale Apparel promotes two to VP

GRANITEVILLE, SC — Dominic P. Colapietro has been promoted to vice president of Workwear and Anthony F. Strickland has been promoted to vice president of Sportswear at Avondale Apparel Fabrics.

Colapietro joined the company in April 1991 and has held various managerial positions in the marketing area of apparel fabrics, most recently as vice president of Sportswear. He is a graduate of Fordham University.

Strickland joined the company in November 1994 and has held various positions in technical service and product development of our apparel fabrics division, most recently as director of Product Development, Sportswear Fabrics.

He is a graduate of Auburn University.

Both will report to John G. Hudson Jr., president of Marketing and Sales.

VF Corporation adds two veeps

GREENSBORO, NC — VF Corporation has named Stephen Dull, 46, as vice president of Strategy, a new position. He will report to Mackey J. McDonald, VF’s chairman and chief executive officer.

Dull has also been named a member of VF’s Operating Committee. His responsibilities will include the identification of long-term strategic growth initiatives and brand development.

Dull has more than 20 years of experience in building brand value. He has held senior positions at both Accenture and McKinsey & Company, where he worked with numerous Fortune 50 clients on brand building, business development and marketing strategy.

Dull holds a B.A. in international political science from Michigan State University and a M.B.A. in marketing from the University of Michigan.

The company also announced that Jeff Kuster, 38, who has been serving since March 2004 as vice president of Strategy Integration, has been named vice president of Business Operations for VF’s International Intimates division.

Kuster, who will be based in Barcelona, Spain, will be working to refine and execute VF’s international intimates growth plans and strategies. Previously, from February 2002 to 2004, Kuster was vice president of Marketing & Strategic Planning for VF Imagewear, Inc.

Prior to joining VF Corporation, Kuster spent five years with McKinsey & Company in a variety of consulting assignments.

He holds a B.A. in economics and management & international relations from Beloit College, and a M.B.A. and M.P.P., both from the University of Chicago.
