
Based on the success of its Greenville, SC, Region 3 meetings, the American Textile Machinery Association (ATMA) is re-activating its Region 2 meeting in Charlotte, NC, this week.
The dinner meeting will take place Thursday, January 16 at the Myers Park Country Club, 2415 Roswell Avenue. The event opens with a social hour from 6 until 7, followed by dinner and a speaker.
Henry Surratt, vice president of greige manufacturing operations for Springs Industries, will present Competing in Todays Home Furnishings Market: Balancing the Make/Buy Scenarios.
Region 2 co-chairs are Joe Okey Jr. of American Monforts, Charlotte, and Jay White of Morrison Textile Machinery, Lancaster, SC. Cost is $30 per person, which includes the reception and dinner.
The inaugural Concept 2 Consumer Symposium, Color: Emotion and Science, is scheduled for March 26-27 in New York City.
The symposium will be conducted at Swayduck Auditorium at the New School University, 65 Fifth Avenue at 13th Street.
Targeted to designers, merchandisers and others involved in product development processes, this event will focus on key issues surrounding the development of color for soft-goods products. From color trends to color standards, CAD to quality control, a full roster of industry experts is on tap to demystify the color process and offer attendees new ways to improve quality and reduce lead times.
